David Allen, Founder & Director of Integration

Focusing on applying his knowledge in Virtualization and Business Efficiency, David created Mercois in April of 2010 as the first company of its kind to provide complete Virtualization services to all types of businesses, including the technology, implementation, management, and training necessary to bring a complete package together.

David’s ability to pair creative thinking with analytical solutions has always been his greatest asset.

Professional Work Experience: 18 years

Specializations: Executive management, virtualization, collaborative workspaces, task tracking, business planning and strategy, resource management, IT, developer, producer, designer, and programmer.

Responsibilities: President & CEO (incorporation, fundraising, executive responsibilities), CTO (responsible for resource/knowledge/experience relative to technology, problem solving, architecture design, IT, programming and development), Producer (product designer, manager, milestone assignment, vision), and Lead Software Architect (leader, designer, mentor, coordinator, communicator, assignment regulator).

Achievements: Shipping the MMOG Alganon for $3.5M where industry average is $20M. First in the online game industry to build a commercial grade MMOG with a virtualized company. Creator of Mordor, Demise, and Horizons. Author of 700-page book on programming.

With business and technical and management responsibilities of President, CEO & CTO, David has extensive and exceptional experience in the areas of: business & financial planning and execution, providing vision and leadership, acquiring and growing the highest quality talent, utilizing the most advanced collaborative and task tracking systems available, company virtualization and overhead reduction, executive structuring & core management, legal correspondence, communication & training, application & GUI creation, project & specification design, learning new tools & applications and development techniques, managing resources, interacting with the public and co-workers, visualization of virtual problems and solutions, public speaking, and corporate network & technology integration (internet, phone, network, security).

Recent Work History

David built Quest Online as the first virtual MMOG Company to successfully launch a commercial product. He created the IP which became Alganon (www.alganon.com) and handled tasks ranging from the creation of the business plan, meeting with investors, executing fundraising, hiring and managing the core staff, defining company policy, and acting as the visionary and leader for the company and project. David also ran the day to day operations and acted as core designer and producer of the project. This resulted in state of the art Client, Server, Tools, World Building, and Billing technology. David also designed the MyAlganon social network (www.myalganon.com) and online Library system (www.myalganon.com/library). During this time, David hosted the Server systems for the company, and slowly built the team on an as needed basis to nearly 50 individuals. Alganon launched on December 1st, 2009. With the market shifts, David realized the game had to go free to play, so he designed the Tribute Merchant System, a micro-transaction system tied to the in-game lore.

Additional duties included the procurement and architecture of the company’s IT/Server Infrastructure, Merchant Billing Gateway configuration, CDN implementation, and execution of 3rd party distribution agreements.


Jason Blood, Director of Technology

 

Using his extensive knowledge of hardware and software, and Jason will find or create the right mix of technology to make virtualization work for you.  Also, having worked remotely for the last 15 years, he has in-depth personal knowledge of what works best and how to properly leverage existing technology, or create new systems to maximize effectiveness.  Jason’s ability to find or create the software solution needed for any situation has been his greatest asset.

Professional Work Experience: 18 years

Specializations: Development, Application system architecture, Director of Development, Team Lead.  Work in client applications, server applications, networking, web based applications, and with embedded controllers.

Achievements: Leading the development of the MMOG Alganon from initial design in Feb 2006 through it’s launch in Dec 2009.

As Director of Development for QOL, I worked with Dave’s design for the game to create the core architecture of the client and server applications, as well as supporting pieces, such as the data design, network layer, and interopability with the design tools.  Worked with Dave on hiring talented developers and then effectively leveraged online collaboration tools to create a very effective and highly productive development effort.  Before QOL I worked remotely for a few other companies, always with great success.  I have learned through personal experience what works and what doesn’t, and how to maximize working remotely.
